A universal soldier – the Berserk unmanned ground vehicle will be presented at the international exhibition of arms and military machinery MILEX-2019 in Minsk
BSVT – New Technologies LLC announced that they developed a new and promising product – the Berserk unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) in 2018 when on 3rd, July during the parade of Minsk garrison in commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus it was demonstrated its prototype to wide public.
The robotised Berserk marks a new stage in the development of unmanned combat vehicles. Remote control guarantees personnel safety when performing combat missions. Using the latest optronic systems ensures easy control and high accuracy of target detection and recognition. Its excellent manoeuvrability and off-road ability allow fulfilling tasks in difficult terrain and in all weather conditions. It can accomplish a broad range of tasks and would effectively perform in different conditions of combat environment.
The Berserk is a versatile UGV, capable of striking both air and ground targets including enemy light armoured vehicles and troops. Fire accuracy is phenomenal. At the distance of 400 metres, 100 bullets out of 100 hit the bullseye with the diameter of 15 cm.
The Berserk is armed with a four-barrelled 7.62- mm GShG aircraft machine gun with the rate of up to 6,000 rounds per minute. The UGV is intended to hit from stationary position ground and aerial targets moving at the speed of 300 km/h at ranges up to 1,000 metres.
The Berserk is equipped with optronic equipment a thermal imager. Thanks to this the UGV detects UAVs at range up to 3 km, helicopter – up to 10.
The system has a powerful radio transmitter both for telemetry signals and for transmitting high-definition video. The range of reliable control of Berserk is about two kilometres in town, and more than five kilometres in open terrain. If necessary, the combat control radius can be increased using a repeater installed on a quadcopter. The operator controls the UGV using a universal remote, as in a video game.
The Berserk has high manoeuvrability and cross-country ability, moves easily on all types of soil (sand, gravel, wetlands area); it overcomes steep terrain, and trenches that allows performing missions in difficult terrain conditions and in any weather. Powerful electric motors provide high mobility.
Its main advantage over competitors is the versatile platform that allows creating UGV of various modifications. This system has a high potential for upgrading.
Today the programmers of BSVT – New Technologies do their best to enable the Berserk to acquire targets automatically, and in the future to recognise them.
It is worth mentioning that Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, has highly estimated the work of designers from BSVT – New Technologies LLC. The demonstration of the Berserk robotic system took place on 5 October 2018 at one of the firing ranges in Brest region, where the Belarusian leadership acquainted themselves with the new and upgraded products of military-industrial complex of the country.
“This is the highest fire accuracy. The robot is very good. We will manufacture, fine-tune and put them into service,” the head of state said.
