Artillery Fire Control Evolution: What Is SAMI’s Upgraded Belarusian Lektor Capable of?

The upgraded portable automated artillery fire control system called Lektor manufactured by OJSC “AGAT – Control Systems” – Managing Company of “Geoinformation Control Systems” Holding has been put into service with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

Compared to its basic modification, the upgraded Lektor has become truly multipurpose and takes the combat employment of artillery to the whole new level while meeting the challenges of modern combined arms operation.

The system supports a closed cycle of automation, from reconnaissance to hard-kill action. It offers the possibility to efficiently control the preparation and conduct of combat operations by artillery units in any climatic conditions, at any time of day or night, in flat or mountainous terrain. The system is fully autonomous.

What can Lektor do?

Data collection and communication: automatic collection, visualization, storage and communication of data received from reconnaissance assets, weapons, attached and supported assets.

Digital reconnaissance and target designation: reception of data from different-type reconnaissance and surveillance assets, including reception of video images from drones, measurement of target coordinates with their communication to each piece of ordnance (weapon).

Smart calculations: automated solution of survey, meteorological and ballistic preparation tasks, computation of calculated settings and corrections at each workstation.

Manoeuvre planning: modelling of march, advancement, deployment and movement of assets, as well as real-time monitoring of enroute movement.

Universal communications: transmission of commands and signals via satellite, HF, VHF, and wire channels, as well as through DMR, Wi-Fi, and 4G networks. The system ensures full integration with higher-level automatic control systems and combined arms units.

SAMI responds to current trends of development of the military industrial sector with systematic upgrading of its products.
