No driver – just an operator. New development by SAMI
OJSC MZKT is conducting research tests on a remotely controlled vehicle (hereinafter referred to as RCV) based on light armored vehicle MZKT-490100-010.
RCV is a system consisting of the light armored vehicle itself, equipped with modified devices and systems, as well as a control panel where the operator can set the vehicle movement parameters.The external view of the RCV corresponds to the serial light armored vehicle.
The product is equipped with a YMZ-5345-10 diesel engine paired with hydromechanical automatic transmission developed by OJSC MZKT, both having electronic control.
RCV is equipped with a control system that includes a control unit with a transceiver, as well as a number of devices that allow for control of fuel supply to the internal combustion engine, selecting the driving mode (D, N, R) in the automatic transmission, the degree of impact on the service braking system and the status of the parking braking system, and the steering angle of the steered wheels.
Currently, a prototype of RCV is undergoing research tests to verify and further improve the software that controls the parts of the unmanned control system.
