SAMI is taking part in IX Belarusian Space Congress
Within October 21- 23, 2025, Minsk will host one of the key scientific events of the year in our country in the field of space and high technologies – the IX Belarusian Space Congress.
The representatives of space agencies of the CIS countries, specialists from more than 40 leading scientific, scientific-production, and educational organizations of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, and the People's Republic of China engaged in the development of space technology and equipment, as well as research of outer space for peaceful purposes, are participating in the scientific forum.
Key topics of the congress:
• results of ongoing space research programs;
• artificial intelligence in space technologies;
• satellite communication and navigation systems;
• geoservices and methods of processing Earth remote sensing data;
• promising materials and equipment for space exploration.
SAMI is represented at the event by Vladimir Tsalko, Chairman of the CIS Interstate Council “Radionavigation.” In his speech, he noted the achievements of organizations within SAMI system in the field of space and outlined promising areas for their cooperation with Roscosmos in development of space technology components, satellite communications, and navigation activities.
The participants of the scientific forum separately noted the participation of OJSC “Peleng” in the innovative project currently being implemented to create a Russian-Belarusian earth remote sensing satellite with high-resolution target equipment, which will allow for more effective solutions to problems in ecology, agriculture, urban planning, cartography and land management.
During the congress, the representatives of OJSC “Peleng” presented an experimental model of a space-based satellite methane gas analyzer developed as part of the Union State space program. “Development of basic elements of orbital and ground-based facilities for creation of multi-satellite groups of small spacecraft for observing the Earth's surface and near-Earth space” (System-SG). This device allows for the global search for methane emissions across the entire globe and meets international standards in terms of technological level and accuracy characteristics.
The participation of SAMI in the IX Belarusian Space Congress confirms its focus on further expanding its presence in the fields of high technology and space.
