Low-flying and ground objects detection X-band radar “Rodnik”

Low-flying and ground objects detection X-band radar “Rodnik”

“Rodnik” radar is designated for usage in mobile low-flying radar groups, in automated radar reconnaissance systems for air objects and other detection systems, measurement of coordinates and motion parameters of air (azimuth, range, flight level, range rate) and ground objects (azimuth, range, range rate), automated target classification and tracking within the assigned zones and output of radar information to a user according to the assigned protocol.

Area of space scanning:
The radar provides scanning in azimuth within the sector of 270 deg. – mechanical scanning (two variants of antenna rotation rate: 36 deg./s and 72 deg./s).

Detection zone:
in azimuth within the sector, deg. – 360;
in range, m – from 300 up to 20000 (engaging UAV) and from 1500 up to 50000 (engaging all types of air targets);
in elevation, grad. – from 0 up to 80;
in range rate, m/s – from 5 up to 100 (engaging UAVs) and from 5 up to 1000 (engaging all types of air targets).

Detection ranges:
The radar provides detection ranges with a conventional 0.5 true detection probability and 10-5 false alarm probability:
fixed-wing UAV with σt = 1 м2 RCS at 200 m height – not less than 20 km (limited by instrumental range);
fixed-wing UAV with σt = 0,01 м2 RCS at 200 m height – not less than 10 km;
multi-rotor type UAV with σt = 0,001 м2 RCS at 200 m height – not less than 6 km;
winged missile with σt = 0,1 м2 RCS at 200 m height – not less than 17 km;
fighter aircraft with σt = 1 м2 RCS at heights:
from 200 up to 3000 m – not less than 25 km;
from 5000 up to 8000 m – not less than 20 km;
bomber-fighter aircraft with σt = from 2.5 up to 3 м2 at heights:
from 200 up to 3000 m – not less than 45 km;
from 5000 up to 10000 m – not less than 30 km;
bomber aircraft with σt = 5 м2 at heights:
from 200 up to 3000 m – not less than 50 km (limited by instrumental range);
from 5000 up to 10000 m – not less than 40 km.

Determined target coordinates and motion parameters and accuracy of their measurement:
mean square errors of coordinates determination:
range, m – not more than 50;
azimuth, deg. – not more than 0,6 (value can be specified at the stage of technical design);
range rate, m/s – not more than 0,1.

Resolution power of the radar in measured target coordinates and motion parameters:
in range, m – not more than 300;
in azimuth, deg. – not more than 3;
in range rate, m/s – not more than 5.

Target classification:
The radar should provide recognition of 5 classes of air objects (“aircraft”, “helicopter”, “multi-rotor UAV”, “fixed-wing UAV”, unrecognized air object”) and “ground object” class.
Time of information updating, s – not more than 10.

Quantity of simultaneously tracked targets:
engaging UAV – not less than 50;
engaging all types of air targets – not less than 100.

The radar is transportable. Detection and tracking of targets are carried out in the setup position.
Setup time (teardown) of the radar from the carrying position into the combat position under any climate conditions, at any time of the day, min. – not more than 20;
Launch time of the radar with functional control, min. – not more than 10;
Change time of the radar from the standby mode into the combat one, s – not more than 10;
Continuous operation time of the radar from external electrical network, h – not less than 24.
