SKY-TRUCK in the sky: the unmanned truck that debuted at MILEX-2025 has successfully passed its first flight tests
The KB Unmanned helicopters (UAVHELI) continued plant testing of the SKY-TRUCK unmanned helicopter, presented at the opening of the MILEX-2025 exhibition, with a series of successful flight tests with cargo.
The UAV is designed according to a coaxial scheme. The maximum take-off weight of the UAV is 2,350 kg, and the flight duration is up to 4 hours. The cruising speed is 160 km/h. The flight range is 480 km.
In the initial stages, SKY-TRUCK was designed for Russian VK-650 engine, but later it was decided to adapt it for a wider range of power plants, including the Rolls Royce 250-C20, Rolls Royce 250-C30, and Rolls Royce 250-C47. This variability will provide greater flexibility in promoting the final product to markets in different countries.
In addition, the SKY-TRUCK unmanned helicopter was originally designed for delivering cargo to offshore oil platforms, but later the developers increased the functions and now it can be used for a wide range of cargo transportation missions.
The unmanned helicopter can carry up to 600 kg payload. AIRBOX transport containers are used to store cargo, which are installed under the fuselage of the unmanned vehicle.
